Most of the questions on the exam are multiple choice question.
However in recent years, more open ended questions have been introduced.
The following are possible questions:
* Calculating an answer for a mathematical question (usually for medicinr dosages) a
* Step by step procedure for a certain medical or nursing procedure
* Ientifying and selecting a particular area of a drawn body part

This is true. When I sat the NCLEX there were a lot of these types of questions, so you should really prep for them and be prepared. Sometimes multiple choice questions are easy because you have the suggestions to trigger your memory, but with the new style of questions it can be difficult because you really do have to know your stuff.
Good point.

This is probably not news that any of us waiting to take the NCLEX is going to be totally happy with. I have to be honest, though. I would rather have a nurse taking care of me that used the new questions that required full answers. Especially when it comes to medication dosages, I should think that it would be better to be able to prove the person actually knew how to figure it out. Even those who don't have a clue can get multiple choice questions correct by guessing the right answer. Rather than relying on an answer triggering the memory, it is better for patient care if the people really do know their stuff as the admin said in their post.
